HOUSING • I&T Summit

The Housing Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Hong Kong Housing Authority organised the “HOUSING • I&T  ear 2025”. This initiative encompasses a series ofevents, including robotics competitions, overseas visits and exchanges, construction technology  demonstrations, and an international summit. The aim is to foster dialogue and exchange ideas among government, industry, academia, and research  institutes globally, with the goal of enhancing our housing solutions through innovative practices and technological advancements.

A highlight of this initiative was the “HOUSING • I&T Summit”, which took place from November 4 to 7, 2025, in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The Summit featured two days of symposiums followed by two days of site visits to a MiC factory in Zhuhai and MiC construction sites in Hong Kong. It aimed to bring together local and international professionals and practitioners in the field of public housing to exchange ideas and discuss advanced technological developments in this sector.

More than 3,000 industry leaders representing airports, airlines and other key stakeholders of the global aviation sector converged in the city for Routes World 2025, the first time the prestigious occasion is held in Hong Kong. Jointly organised by the Development Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province, "MiC Week" featured conferences, workshops, site visits, and tours, attracting more than 3,000 participants. The unveiling ceremony of the Alliance was also held during the launching ceremony, with membership comprising industry associations, higher education institutions, research institutes, enterprises, experts and scholars from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the Alliance aims to promote the development of MiC in the GBA, aligning with the national strategies of high-quality development and green building. The Hospital Authority has been organising this signature event every year since 1993, which aims to promote the sharing of knowledge and experience in clinical advances and approaches to modern healthcare service, and facilitate exploration and discussion of contemporary concepts among local, Chinese Mainland and overseas healthcare professionals, academics, executives and stakeholders.

The Hospital Authority Convention 2025 featured more than 190 distinguished speakers from local, Chinese Mainland and overseas to share knowledge and insight at more than 60 sessions in the scientific programme. Around 8600 medical professionals, academics, executives and stakeholders from 13 countries and regions attended the Convention. Apart from masterclasses, symposiums and plenaries ranging from “Cancer Screening and Therapy” to “Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine”, “Sustainable Healthcare Facilities” and “Healthcare Management”, there are plenary and symposium with dedicated presentations by experts from Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom and France with focuses on sustainable healthcare facilities and technological innovation in hospital constructions and new hospital commissioning.

The presentations showcase the latest development trend of modern hospitals in Chinese Mainland and strategic approach for transformation of healthcare facilities, featuring global examples of how to successfully navigate the complexities of healthcare facility transformation and delivery. In additional to local innovative technologies for energy saving, the contribution of French green hospitals to reducing the environmental footprint of healthcare was illustrated from an international perspective. The presentations also explored strategies to address typical accessibility challenges in super-large hospitals and empowerment of hospital smart logistics construction and operation and maintenance through technology, along with case studies on healthcare infrastructure development and new hospital commissioning in Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Singapore, providing valuable insights into recent projects and best practices.

2025 International Climate & Biodiversity Conference: Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in Action

Co-organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) and the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Asia Pacific Region (APR), with the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) as collaborating organization, the "International Climate and Biodiversity" conference aims to exemplify the unique role of landscape architects under the challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss and to foster cross-boundary and cross sector collaborations on nature-based solutions.
